A few weeks back we had the pleasure of hosting Pamela Golben of Golben Farms and her DIY Beeswax Candles workshop.
Pamela keeps her own bees and harvests honey from the hives every season (which we got to taste!).
She was very informative on how crucial honey bees are to our ecosystem and guided the attendees through their life cycle and the importance of preserving this very special species.
Each person got to hand roll a variety of candles using strips of beeswax. As you hand rolled each one, you didn’t need much other than the warmth from your hands to keep the pillars in tact.
These all-natural candles also burn the longest and cleanest compared to other types of candle wax.
It was a wonderful time learning and making with Pamela and we can’t wait for her next workshop on Vermicomposting Saturday, April 16th at 2pm!
