This past weekend Sarah and I decided it was time to tackle the overgrown jungle that had taken over the front yard.
Feeling ready and prepared with our one set of pruners, our confidence in getting everything done in one afternoon quickly halted once we realized how much needed to be trimmed and pulled up.
There were several baby maple trees trying to make their home nestled up against the house and lots of sumac popping up anywhere and everywhere it liked.
Luckily we have some wonderful neighbors who let us borrow a mower, wheelbarrow and a much larger set of pruners.
(You know, the things you actually need to do any kind of yard work..)
When you have a wheelbarrow the most important thing to do is give a wheelbarrow ride.
These lovely porch chairs were nicely donated by another neighbor (talk about neighborly love here!) and with a nice coat of paint, they will be a perfect set when this lady is all finished!
Porch drinks anyone?
There is still much to be done but we really enjoyed bringing the yard back to life a bit and saw some beautiful flowers almost ready to bloom once we tamed the jungle.
More to come!
