This house was closed and purchased on April 28th (THAT WAS 5 MONTHS AGO!) and these pictures were taken two weeks ago.
I will never forget that week because
1. it was two days after my 27th Birthday and
2. I never even allowed the idea of owning a home this early in my life enter my mind. Ever.
The idea seemed way too overwhelming and anchoring but when an opportunity falls into your lap, taking it and running with it seemed to be the best option.
Plus flipping isn’t a forever home. You make something that is pretty much unlivable into a beautiful space for someone else to enjoy. Hopefully make a little money when it sells and move along to the next one.
Back to the it’s-been-5-Months part. Sarah and I never imagined this flip taking it’s sweet a** time.
We were advised prior to purchasing that it would take at most 4 months to renovate and we would be done.
Little did we know.
I can be a little slow with getting the ball rolling at times and took a little too much time when it came to finding an architect who had a similar vision for the flip.
We needed someone who could play some ‘tetris’ with a few walls and figure out how to fit a hand-me-down kitchen into a space that didn’t exist, move all of the bathrooms, add two bedrooms and create a lofted space in the master. We finally found him and he did a fantastic job making it all work (with an addition).
After getting the plans finalized, we started on the DEMO!
Check out some of the photos below and we’ll be sure to keep you posted again soon!
More to come soon!
